Mentors are a key part of all workshops, they come from both the private and non-commercial sector and are all experts in their field. Some of the biggest names in data visualisation came to Beirut in 2015 to share their expertise and mentor the workshop participants.
Maral is an information designer focused on creating and supporting socially impactful projects. She is a self-styled 'Design Activist', and is most known for her large-scale data visualisation of the Iranian Internet.

She works with Beyond Words Studio (formerly Information is Beautiful) to find facts and data, digest them and build them into compelling stories. Miriam works collaboratively with designers to produce infographics, data visualisations and other forms of information design.
Pierre is a German design professional focused on User Experience, Information Design and Visualization. He's a designer at the interaction design studio MING Labs Berlin and has a real talent for simplifying digital products and creating meaningful (data) visualizations.

With a background in book design and text visualisation, Stefanie now works as a designer with a focus on data-related design, with work ranging from data visualization and information design to commissioned data art and data illustration.
