Arab Reporters for Investigative Journalism (ARIJ) is the first and only nonprofit organization in the region dedicated to promoting investigative journalism in Arab newsrooms, still an alien practice. The Amman-based ARIJ was formed in early 2005 to support independent quality professional journalism, through funding in-depth journalism projects, and offering media coaching. It helps journalists working in print, radio, tv and online media in Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, Iraq, Bahrain, Palestine, Yemen and Tunisia.
The Information and Research Center – King Hussein Foundation (IRCKHF) serves as a catalyst for socio-economic transformation through research, information and dissemination of knowledge. The IRCKHF was initially launched in 1996 as part of the National Task Force for Children. Today, the IRCKHF promotes the welfare of children, youth, women, families, communities, and vulnerable groups by providing objective, multidisciplinary research and analysis to practitioners and policymakers in Jordan and the Middle East, enabling effective socio-economic planning and decision-making.
Arab Women Organization of Jordan
Arab Women Organization of Jordan (AWO) was founded in 1970 and focuses on promoting gender equality and women’s rights.Throughout the years, AWO worked hard to strengthen a common feminist analysis and address issues of mutual interest across Jordan such as increasing women’s participation in public, political and economic spheres, improving legislation towards ending discrimination against women and its implementation, combating Gender-based violence (GBV), and ending gender stereotypes.
